Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing
This Online Workshop will provide you with a brief overview of adolescent development, as well as an understanding and appreciation of the impact of mental health and wellbeing problems on young people today. This informative and interactive online session will cover mental health problems/illnesses, signs and symptoms to look out for, how to identify the difference between ‘normal’ thoughts, feelings, behaviours as part of an adolescent’s social/emotional development vs. when to be concerned that something more serious is going on for that young person.

Trainer
Kim Huckerby is a highly skilled and passionate educator, delivering accredited Mental Health First Aid and Wellbeing programs across Australia through her business, ‘The Wellbeing Affect’. Kim has spent the last 18 years working extensively in the community services space with young people, parents, secondary schools and the corporate sector. Her professional focus has been on adolescent development, engaging in many diverse roles, whilst also pursuing her passion in education and training. Kim has navigated the youth space for many years and has found that through working in different areas such as psycho-education, outreach, mentoring, strategic planning, leadership and teaching/training, she has equipped herself with the necessary tools, skill-base and knowledge to impart her years of learning to a large range of audiences. Kim’s participants describe her training as “warm, engaging, energetic and inspiring”.
