Turning Lateral Violence into Lateral Kindness
Lateral Violence is a cycle of abuse and its roots lie in factors such as: colonisation, oppression, intergenerational trauma and the ongoing experiences of racism and discrimination.
With conversations such as the VOICE to Parliament and earlier with vaccinations, today there is a need for all to understand Lateral Violence so that we can work together through healthy partnerships and stop the perpetual cycle of pain inflicted on one another in times of opportunity.
In this in-person workshop, we will delve into the various forms of Lateral Violence and understand the underlying reasons why individuals may choose to either participate or abstain from engaging in such behaviors. We will learn strategies to hold up Lateral Kindness as a way to decolonise our relationship with one another to heal and move forward together to create a healthier future.
