
Reflective Supervision Master Class – 2 day workshop
This two-day workshop is suitable for all community practitioners who wish to develop their skills in the provision of supervision of staff. The workshop is based on a model of critically reflective professional supervision practice. It invites participants to consider supervision processes, strategies, and skills that are critical to effective professional practice and the growth of supervisees.
Learning Outcomes:
- Understand some of the core theoretical constructs of professional practice supervision;
- Demonstrate a knowledge of the key elements of effective supervision;
- Develop an understanding of supervision processes and the appropriate strategies and skills to implement them;
- Understand the critical factors in co-creating an effective supervisory relationship with supervisees;
- Reflect on the role of supervision in building and maintaining ethical practice, and
- Develop skills in delivering competent and accountable cross-cultural supervision.

All Community Practitioners who wish to develop their skill in the provision of supervision of staff.
Facilitator
Mary Jo McVeigh is acknowledged in her field as an expert in child protection and trauma therapy. Mary Jo is a trained trauma therapist and an accredited mental health social worker, currently completing her PHD in social work particularly looking at childhood trauma as a human rights issue. Mary Jo has received many awards in recognition of her work. Most recently, Mary Jo was awarded the Canada Bay City Council Citizen of the Year (2020) and the Order of Australia medal (2021) for her service to the community through social welfare and AASW Social Worker of the year (2022).
