Key Concepts in On the Run (Accidental) Counselling ©

While Teachers are not necessarily formally trained counsellors, they can often find themselves in situations where they need to respond to a colleague, student or a parent’s distress, concerns and strong emotions that are outside their formal role.

As a Teacher you are already an early intervention responder (whether you are consciously aware of this or not). This course two-hour online course provides an overview of the On The Run Counselling model which integrates intentional, evidence-based practice with your existing skills and strengths.

Based on our popular one-day workshop, this online course builds on the array of skills and experiences that Teachers already have, which can be scaffolded by the On The Run Counsellor model.

Suitable for Proficient Level Teachers who teach students in Early Stage 1 to Stage 6.

Acknowledgement

LEAD acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land we gather and work on, and the land that you are on while visiting our website. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging, for they hold the memories, the traditions, the cultures and hopes of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across the nation. A better understanding and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures develops an enriched appreciation for Australia’s cultural heritage and can lead to reconciliation. This is essential to the maturity of Australia as a nation and fundamental to the development of an Australian identity. Understanding and respect are guiding principles of LEAD’s Reconciliation Action Plan.
