Key Concepts in Managing Angry Adolescents Differently (MAAD)©
Understanding the physical and emotional changes that adolescents are experiencing helps us as Teachers to understand the internal forces impacting on their behaviour. Knowledge of the wide range of external influences, including social media, peer pressure, substance abuse and unrealistic expectations help us to better understand their behaviour. An understanding of trauma and its impact on children, adolescents and adults contributes to implementing a more informed framework to manage unacceptable behaviours in the classroom.
The awareness of the need for self-care strategies is another layer in a Teachers’ “tool-box” to help Managing Angry Adolescents Differently.
