
Culturally Reflective Practice in Human Services…ensuring that service delivery meets individual needs!
This half-day Online Workshop will assist practitioners to gain knowledge and skills in culturally reflective and sensitive practice when working with culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) migrants and refugee families.
This Online Workshop will help you to:
- Gain cross-cultural communication skills, building rapport and understanding diversity amongst CALD communities enabling you to effectively use the Culturally Reflective Practice model;
- Explore the needs and challenges that can impact on individuals and families from CALD backgrounds, and
- Increase understanding of racism, discrimination and access-equity issues impacting on help-seeking behaviours of CALD communities.

Facilitator
Jatinder Kaur is the director of JK Diversity Consultants and an accredited mental health social worker (AMHSW) specialising in working with migrant and refugee communities. Her professional career spans 20 years and in number of areas of practice: research, child protection, family support, refugee settlement support, domestic violence counselling, policy roles and teaching social work practice.
She has given evidence at various child protection inquires, Royal commission into Institutional Child Sexual Abuse and Senate Inquiry into dowry abuse. She has published in various academic journals and was featured in SBS documentary “See what you made me do” for her frontline domestic violence work with Indian women.
