CORE Child Protection (Part A and Part B) – 2 sessions
In this Online Workshop, you will be building on your knowledge of Child Protection Legislation and Practices which you will have acquired in your current or previous work with children, young people and families.
This two-part workshop will provide you an overview of current Child Protection Legislation including recent changes. Interactive processes will be used to encourage participants to draw on their current knowledge while supporting participants to build on their practices of reporting, sharing information, and responding to disclosures from children.

- Increased knowledge of the theoretical framework around the effects of abuse on children and young people;
- Increased knowledge of the legal responsibilities required by NSW law;
- Ability to articulate the steps required to support a child upon hearing disclosure of abuse, and
- Demonstrated ability to critically reflect on information discussed.

Mirna Tarabay- Mirna is a Psychotherapist, Trainer and Supervisor. Her work with survivors of trauma, abuse and loss spans over two decades. She has worked in a range of capacities primarily with survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse, both adults and children. She has a practice in Sydney where the focus of her clinical work is with survivors of domestic violence and child abuse, as well as supervision of counsellors and caseworkers working in trauma and child protection fields.
