LEAD would like to acknowledge and observe that today is National Close the Gap Day. We all have a role to play in ‘closing the gap’ to ensure improved long-term outcomes for Aboriginal children, families and communities.

To commemorate this day, we are launching a new eLearning course ‘Effective Engagement with Aboriginal Clients’, developed by Dr. Lana Leslie, a Kamilaroi Woman from the Kamilaroi people of NSW.

Focusing on building respectful relationships with Aboriginal peoples, this eLearning course aims to improve the cultural capability of all professionals and service providers in the Community Sector that work with Aboriginal children, families and communities. This eLearning course has been designed as part of a range of strategies that align to increasing the efficacy of the support provided by non-Aboriginal people to help their Aboriginal clients (children, families and communities) to achieve their outcomes.

We at LEAD hope that on this National Close the Gap Day, you can get involved in any way that you can.
