The “Hand-in-hand: Make it happen, Make it matter” conference is scheduled for 14-15 March 2023 at West HQ, Rooty Hill.

If registering for this event is still on your to-do list, we recommend that you do it sooner rather than later. The special price offer for early bird registrations is set to end on Wednesday 15th February 2023. Take advantage of this limited time offer and we hope to see you at the conference!

Day 1 will explore what kind of shifted perspectives WE need: as a Sector, as a Service Provider, as a Practitioner? As the need for support in the community grows it’s important that the sector evolves and adapts to best reflect what is required. It is vital that we continue to have conversations surrounding how we can ensure that the resources the community sector provides are as useful and realistic as possible. We have put together inspiring, challenging, and engaging presentations on Day 1 to assist in harnessing and unleashing the power of both self-directed learning as well as social learning.

Day 2 will focus on capacity development of Community Sector organisations in Western Sydney Nepean Blue Mountains to develop and implement their organisational Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) through unpacking the challenges and experiences, commit to actions for reconciliation by building genuine and trusting relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

A Conference Reference Group has been set up for Day 2, made up of a Dharug Elder, First Nations practitioners from organizations that operate and provide services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities in the WSNBM district. This Reference Group is providing specialist advice into planning Day 2 to improve long-term outcomes for Aboriginal children, young people, families, and communities.
