Trauma Informed Practice

This workshop provides an introductory understanding of how childhood trauma impacts development and how these impacts can present themselves in children, young people and adults.
We explore what this means for Case Management practices for staff who work directly with traumatised children, young people or clients who have a childhood trauma history.
- Increased knowledge of complex trauma and how to identify it in practice;
- Increased understanding of the development of trauma symptoms and;
- Increased ability to develop appropriate interpersonal and case management strategies to address the needs of traumatised people.
Who should attend this workshop?
Liverpool Family and Children’s Services Interagency & Bankstown and Fairfield Child and Family Inter-Agencies, in conjunction with LEAD, invite all workers supporting children and families in South West Sydney to attend this workshop to develop skills, share experiences and network with others.
Laura Luchi is a registered Psychologist who has been working with children, families and professionals impacted by trauma and abuse since 1995 in the government, NGO and private sectors.
She has worked in a range of organisations including NSW Health, Community Based NGO’s and NSW Family &Community Services. For the past seven years, she has been in practice at Cara House, Centre for Growth and Healing in Sydney, working alongside an outstanding group of trauma practitioners.
Her work centers around the dynamic and fascinating world of complex and developmental trauma in children and finds its expression in her work with professionals, carers and children alike.
