This workshop will equip you with effective intervention strategies and the basic skills required to better assist people in difficult situations. We will also explore communication principles and the essential skills of creating and maintaining boundaries while supporting the needs of the individuals we come into contact with during our work.

Learning Outcomes

  • Gain awareness of existing strengths and skills that help develop and maintain relationships;
  • Increased awareness and understanding of the issues and stressors that clients and colleagues may be facing;
  • Developing best practice model of response to an individual in distress, and
  • Understanding of the importance of setting boundaries.

This specially priced event is part of LEAD’s “Essential” series; a range of sector development workshops that build capacity and capability for workers supporting children and families to achieve their outcomes



Anne Crestani

Anne is an engaging trainer who draws on over 20 years experience as a Counsellor, Clinical Supervisor, Service Manager and Child & Family Services Development Officer.

She developed the ‘Walk With’ and ‘Step by Step 4 Quadrant Model’ programs for disaster recovery which are being taken up by a wide range of organisations throughout NSW.

She is passionate & committed to strengthening the capacity of front-line staff to provide the highest standard of support, care & therapeutic practice to their clients.
