It is often very challenging for Aboriginal workers living and working with community members to develop and maintain
appropriate professional and personal boundaries.
This workshop will explore the main aspects of managing professional boundaries while confronting some of the difficult aspects of working with family and community while maintaining cultural respect and integrity.
Who should attend this workshop?
This workshop is open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Family and/or Community Workers whose role is to support Aboriginal Children and their families in Western Sydney.
Kara (Carol) Eddington has been delivering Mental Health First Aid Courses to Aboriginal professionals and community members throughout Australia for the past 7 years, and is a Master MHFA Instructor. She is deeply committed to promoting better social, emotional & spiritual wellbeing outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Previous experience has included working as a counsellor and psychologist in Aboriginal run community organisations, being Clinical Coordinator and teaching in the Djirruwang Mental Health Degree (CSU) and coordinating the development and training of Instructors of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander MHFA programme.
