The Linker Network – Orientation Training

The Linker Network is a new integrated service delivery model focused on putting the needs of children, young people and families at the centre of what we do. With its shared principles and standards, common branding, tools, resources, and membership, the model is designed to help service providers’ work more flexibly and collaboratively with each other, and to provide more consistency across the service system. Developed through a co-design process, it’s a joint initiative of Family and Community Services (FACS) and service providers in Western Sydney Nepean Blue Mountains District. It is currently being rolled out across Greater Western Sydney, and service providers are encouraged to join up and help create an effective collaborative network providing coordinated services to clients.
This training session, developed by LEAD and the Linker Network Coordination Team, will provide you with a good orientation of what the Linker Network is about, and how you and your organisation can join up. It will explore the journey of The Linker Network, the underpinning approach and principles and what you need to do to align to this framework.
Key Learning Outcomes
- Understand the ‘why’, ‘how’ and ‘what’ of Linker Network and the impact it can have service provision and outcomes for clients;
- Gain knowledge and understanding of what’s underpinning the mode – the clients needs and experience, the enablers and service propositions;
- Gain an understanding of how your role and organisation can fit into the Linker Network model;
- Gain knowledge and understanding of what makes this model different;
- Gain knowledge and understanding of how to implement key elements including the ‘Think Like a Linker’ approach, the Linker Network Plan, Coordinated Client Support, Common Principles and Standards, Common Welcome Approach, Common Branding, the Collaborative Practice Groups and how you can join a Local Linker Network in your area.
If you receive targeted early intervention (TEI) funding from FACS you will be currently involved in the FACS TEI reform. You’ll see that the Linker Network aligns to the Reform Principles of meeting client needs; working in partnership with NGOs; joint service design and delivery; an integrated service system; outcomes focused; and building sector capacity. This close alignment makes the Linker Network a straight–forward and easy tool to implement, and takes a lot of the guess work out of how service providers can adapt to the change.

Please note that there is no on-site parking. We suggest street parking next to our rear entrance on Powers Road – (the approximate address is 3 Powers Road, next to Australia Post Seven Hills Business Hub) or the Commuter Car Park at Seven Hills Train Station which can be accessed via Terminus Road. Both options are a short 5-10 minute walk to our office.
