Having Those Challenging Conversations with Parents: A Focus on Developmental Delay in Young Children
July 3 @ 9:15 AM - 4:30 PM AEST
Are you an early childhood educator, a family worker, or a playgroup facilitator? This workshop is for anyone who works with young children.
Do you have concerns about a child’s development? If so, where do take those concerns? How do you have ‘hard’ conversations with families about a child’s development?
What are the pathways to diagnosis and support for children where there are concerns that a child is not meeting his or her milestones?
In this workshop you will explore and develop practical strategies in talking with families from a strengths’ based and family-centred approach. You will have the opportunity to reflect on your current practice. This workshop will focus on children aged 0 – 5 years and will include an overview of developmental milestones.
Young children are one of FACs identified focus priority groups for Targeted Earlier Intervention (TEI).
