Do you work with children 3-12 with challenging behaviours (diagnosed and undiagnosed) and/or have additional needs?
In this event we will explore strategies for positive behaviour support from a strengths’ based and family-centred approach.
By Attending this Workshop you will:
-Explore an overview of major childhood disorders and developmental issues and identify strategies for promoting relevant positive behaviour support;
-Develop skills to identify and understand difficult behaviours in children;
-Develop skills to engage with families and to support families around the diagnosis of developmental/behavioural issues in children; and
-Develop skills to manage difficult behaviours

Colleen Hirst is a clinical psychologist and family therapist, who has been providing clinical services in Western Sydney for over 35 years. Her warmth and relational style is complemented by her strengths-based approach to therapy. She is passionate in her clinical work to respectfully assist people uncover the strengths and hope that can become the vehicles for change.
Colleen has extensive and varied clinical experience, having worked in drug and alcohol counselling, street youth work, adolescent counselling, prison chaplaincy, crisis accommodation and homelessness, mental health, family therapy and couple counselling.
