LEAD is pleased to welcome Vikki Reynolds back to Australia in September to facilitate a workshop on Collective Care, Solidarity & The Zone of Fabulousness! Those of you who attended the LEAD Hand-in-Hand: Make it Happenโ€ฆ Make it Matter conference, heard her speak about role of justice-doing and solidarity in relation to sustainability of Community Sector practitioners. In Vikkiโ€™s words โ€œIf we can enact collective care, as opposed to only self-care, sustainability becomes possible, and we can act in solidarity as activists to change the social context, and shoulder each other up in resistance to the dark spaces of our workโ€. The idea of โ€˜the zone of fabulousnessโ€™ offers an alternative approach to understanding the ways we as workers are harmed in the work, and our collective resistance to these harms, that is different from vicarious trauma or burnout.
Weโ€™re excited to hear from Vikki again, and this time in-person!
We are also thrilled to have Mary Jo Mcveigh back with not one, but two workshops! Mary Jo will deliver โ€˜The Journey from Managing to Leadingโ€™ workshop and a 2-day master class on โ€˜Reflective Supervision.โ€™ If you had the chance to attend her breakout session at the LEAD Hand-in-Hand: Make it Happenโ€ฆ Make it Matter conference, you wonโ€™t want to miss either of these workshops!
